Polyaspartic vs Urethane Topcoats: Which Lasts Longer in Colorado?

The topcoat is what you walk and drive on every day. Choose wisely.

Key Differences

Polyaspartic cures extremely fast (often walkable in hours), has excellent UV stability, and high abrasion resistance. Ideal when you need quick return to service or strong outdoor UV protection.

Urethane (especially aliphatic) also offers good UV resistance and chemical toughness. Some systems are more flexible, which can help with minor slab movement.

Our Approach in Colorado

We select the topcoat based on the environment: polyaspartic for most garages and sunny areas because of speed and UV performance; specialized urethanes when specific chemical resistance or flexibility is needed. Both are far superior to the thin consumer topcoats that yellow and wear quickly.
